Dr. Fady Sourial is a radiation oncologist with advanced, sub-specialized training in brachytherapy, offering both high-dose-rate (HDR) and low-dose-rate (LDR) techniques for gynecologic, prostate, and skin cancers, as well as intraoperative GammaTile brain brachytherapy and eye plaque brachytherapy. He is trained in the most contemporary radiation technologies available, including MR-guided adaptive radiation therapy (MR-Linac), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT/SABR), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). Prior to joining Comprehensive Hematology Oncology, Dr. David served as the Director of Brachytherapy Services and Lead Physician of Radiopharmaceuticals at University of South Florida and Tampa General Hospital.
Dr. Sourial completed his radiation oncology residency at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, where he trained in gynecologic and interstitial brachytherapy under the mentorship of Dr. Sushil Beriwal, one of the world’s foremost authorities in brachytherapy, with whom he continues to collaborate on published research. While at AHN, he was elected GME Resident Council Chair, representing more than 500 physicians across the health system. His research spans breast, prostate, gastrointestinal, and metastatic cancers, with publications in leading journals including The Lancet Oncology, the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, Physics, and JCO Oncology Practice.
Dr. Sourial began his medical career in orthopedic surgery training, a background that continues to shape his practice today. In addition to cancer care, he offers low-dose radiation therapy for osteoarthritis, a safe, non-invasive treatment for joint pain, bringing a rare combination of musculoskeletal expertise and radiation precision to patients seeking relief without surgery.
Above all, Dr. Sourial believes in caring for the whole patient with compassion, clear communication, and treatment tailored to each person’s goals. Outside of medicine, he enjoys basketball, tennis, traveling, and spending time with his wife and daughter. He is fluent in English and Arabic.
Dr. Sourial is accepting new patients.
