Dr. Neeharika Makani is a medical hematologist/oncologist in Pinellas County. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA then spent her early childhood in England before moving to Bakersfield, CA. She developed a passion for medicine early in life as her parents are both physicians.
She completed the majority of her medical education in Boston, MA, including at the Dana-Farber Cancer Center of Harvard Medical School, where she was clinical faculty and conducted several clinical trials. She is currently the medical research director at Comprehensive Hematology Oncology and is overseeing multiple clinical trials while presenting research at national conferences and publishing in international journals.
Dr. Makani is committed to continuing cutting-edge research and provide access to newer therapies to her patients. She has a special interest in young adults with cancer. She provides exceptional care to her patients and their families by giving them the personalized attention and care they need. Her compassion has earned her national recognition with the prestigious Gold Humanism Award. She also holds leadership positions in various Cancer Committees at local hospitals and regularly presents at Grand Rounds, teaching seminars, and community outreach programs. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American College of Physicians.
