Dr. Syed Abid is a medical hematologist/oncologist who has been in practice for over fifteen years in the St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay area. After completing medical school in Karachi, Pakistan, he completed graduate medical training in Missouri including at the prestigious Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University. Throughout his career Dr. Abid has published articles, participated in clinical research, and served as a mentor to teach medical students and residents at local hospitals around St. Petersburg.
Dr. Abid is actively involved in many medical societies. He has been awarded the honorary designation of Fellowship of the American College of Physicians (FACP), which is recognizes his excellence and contributions made to both medicine and to the broader community. He sits on the board for Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) to help advocate for affordable and patient-centered cancer care in the state of Florida. He is also a member of the national organization American Society of Oncology (ASCO).
Dr. Abid‘s philosophy is to treat patients as if you would take care of your family member. He is interested in all cancer types including solid and hematologic malignancies.
